Many of us could afford to lose a few pounds and that makes us vulnerable to weight loss gimmicks and unhealthy diets and fasts. Unfortunately there really isn’t a healthy way to lose weight fast, but if you are diligent and dedicated, you can lose lose about 2 pounds per week, which will add up to about 8 pounds this month. Just check out my tips and suggestions below and you’ll be on your way to looking and feeling great.

1. Drink plenty of water. There are many benefits to staying hydrated and one of them is weight loss. By drinking at least eight glasses of water everyday, your kidneys will be able to flush out toxins from your system and your digestive tract will also function better. You will also be able to stay full longer. Make sure to drink a full glass of water about five minutes before you sit down to eat a meal. You will fill up much faster without overindulging in food.

2. Eat several small meals a day. By spreading out your meals throughout the day, you will be much less likely to overeat. If you regularly skip breakfast, you’re likely to gorge yourself come lunch time. So make sure that you eat at least 5 small meals throughout the day. Just make sure that the meals are nutritious and low in calories.

3. Work out. This should be obvious, but you need to exercise at least 4 days a week if you really want to lose weight. Your exercise should be strenuous and last between 30 minutes and an hour.

4. Lift weights. In addition to your usual cardio workout, you should be throwing in some anaerobic exercise. Having more muscle will make burning calories much easier. You will burn more calories just sitting on the couch or installing brakes in your car then you would normally.

Losing weight is simple if you are dedicated and realistic. Be sure to consult your physician before drastically changing your diet and exercise program.
